Awaiting Your College Admission Decisions
While Waiting for Your College Admissions Decision
Throughout your senior year, you will have to keep your grades up, because admission officers will want to see
that you maintain a good academic record. You will want to continue doing whatever ECAs you have listed in your
application too.
As you await your admissions decision, there are several things to keep in mind:
- Some schools will require you to submit the Mid-Year Report by mid-February. This form is to inform the
colleges of your latest grades, so you would do well not to slack during your senior year.
- If you have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor since you last applied, you must notify the schools
immediately and attach an explanation.
- Keep the colleges updated on your activities. Send in any significant new information that may help to
elevate your case. Normally they make their decisions in mid-March, so you have until then to submit whatever
new information to the colleges.
- Showing interest is important. Once in a while, get in touch with the colleges and ask them questions about
the school or their academic programs. Don’t ask questions that is easily answered in the viewbook.
- Another tip I find useful is not to go through your essays once you have submitted them. You can’t do
anything about them anymore, so why go through the anxiety that what you wrote may be less than perfect?
